3 Main Causes Of Obesity
Lack Of Knowledge
If you’re obese (or you care about someone who is), chances are you aren’t sure what to do about the problem.
In our experience, one of the major reasons people have found it difficult (or even impossible) to lose weight AND KEEP IT OFF is because they don’t understand what’s involved in the process.
EON and it’s Discussion Forum at OverweightLikeMe.com are here to do something about that.
In fact, that’s why I, Stanley Bronstein, created Foundation EON.
Everything we talk about on this website is something I’ve personally lived. I was obese pretty much my entire life until I decided to do something about it 4 months before my 50th birthday.
At one time I was as big as 367 pounds. As late as Feb 2009, I was 320 pounds. Now I’m down to 195 pounds.

Lack Of Belief In Your Power To Change
All too often, overweight and obese people feel trapped.
They feel trapped in a vicious cycle of continuing weight gain.
Take a look at this chart below.
Does this feel like your life?
There’s only ONE thing that can break this cycle
How do you do that?
By believing in yourself; your abilities; your talents; and your ideas.
The moment you start believing in yourself and in your ability to break this cycle is the moment you will.
It’s just that simple.
Fear Of Change
We Fear What We Do Not Fully Understand.
Because We Do Not Understand It, We Find Ourselves Unable
To Completely Protect Ourselves From It.
Because We Know That We Cannot
Fully Protect Ourselves from It, We Fear It.
Fear – A distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, etc., whether the threat is real or imagined.
Fully – Entirely or wholly. Completely.
Understand – To perceive the meaning of. Grasp the idea of. Comprehend. To be thoroughly familiar with. To grasp the significance, implications, or importance of.
Unable – Lacking the necessary power.
Completely – Thoroughly. Entirely. Totally.
Protect – To defend or guard from attack, invasion, loss, annoyance, insult, etc.
We fear what we do not understand because we cannot be safe.
Because we cannot be 100% safe, we fear.
Breaking The Cycle
The only way to break this vicious cycle is to consciously decide that we are going to hop off the wheel. The only way to do that is through knowledge.
- By becoming aware (knowledgeable) about the cycle, we can decide to break it.
- Just because we don’t understanding something doesn’t mean we should necessarily fear it.
- Just because we are not certain we can protect ourselves from a thing doesn’t mean we should necessarily fear it.
It’s all a conscious choice.
- What do you fear?
- To what extent is your fear based upon uncertainty (a lack of knowledge)?
- To what extent do you believe your fear is justified?
- To what extent do you feel threatened or in danger?
- To what extent is this perception of danger real?
- What can you do to reduce your fear and thus increase your ability to act (and react)?
I’m here to tell you that you should NOT fear change.
Instead, you should EMBRACE change.
If you are 100% happy with the way things are in your life, then you don’t need to change.
If you’re not 100% happy with the way things are in your life, then change is the only way things have a chance to improve.

About The Author
Stanley F. Bronstein
Attorney, CPA and Author
President and Member Board of Directors
As his 50th birthday grew nearer, Stanley decided enough was enough. He was tired of living a life of obesity.
Since February 2009, Stanley has dropped from a weight of 320 pounds to the mid-190s. He has gone from a life of inactivity to walking a half-marathon daily and full marathons on many weekends.
His latest book in what he calls his “iWarriorWalk Pathfinder Series” is designed to help people ask (and answer) key questions about themselves. Stanley believes that the only way We The People of the United States are going to solve our problems (especially the growing problem of obesity) is by asking the right questions and by coming up with appropriate answers.
Through Foundation EON, he hopes to help you (and America) do just that.
