Focusing On Your Weight Loss Goal

It’s not what’s happening to you now or what has happened in your past that determines who you become. Rather, it’s your decisions about what to focus on, what things mean to you, and what you’re going to do about them that will determine your ultimate destiny. (Anthony Robbins)

Focus – To concentrate. A central point, as of attraction, attention, or activity. A center of interest or activity. Close or narrow attention; concentration.  Focusing is intense concentration.

How Can YOU Improve YOUR Focus?

The easiest way to improve your focus is to find a way to shut out distractions. What works for me may not work for you. What works for you may not work for someone else. You have to find your own way to shut out distractions.

Once you embark upon your LASTING weight loss “journey”, you will encounter distractions EVERYWHERE.

  • You will have a holiday party to attend next week.
  • Someone will bring donuts to the office.
  • You will get invited to that “hot” new restaurant in town.
  • Etc., etc., etc.

You have to remember to keep your eyes on the prize.

You have to remember the following: Distractions are unreal.  They only exist, IF I let them.

What Should You Focus On?

You should ask, what activities are most likely going to help you accomplish your goals, if you were to focus your attention on them?

That’s really what the quote is suggesting isn’t it?

It’s suggesting that your past is less important than the now.

Your past is just that, the past.

The only value you can get from the past is that it has shaped you into the person you are today.

You are the sum of your previous experiences.

Learn from them, but don’t dwell on them.

Instead, remember that your goal is LASTING weight loss.

If an activity helps you achieve LASTING weight loss, then keep doing it.

If an activity does NOT help you achieve LASTING weight loss, then STOP doing it.

It really is THAT simple.

Until next time, may you find your path by walking it . . .

President and Member Board of Directors

As his 50th birthday grew nearer, Stanley decided enough was enough. He was tired of living a life of obesity.

Since February 2009, Stanley has dropped from a weight of 320 pounds to the mid-190s.  He has gone from a life of inactivity to walking a half-marathon daily and full marathons on many weekends.

His latest book in what he calls his “iWarriorWalk Pathfinder Series” is designed to help people ask (and answer) key questions about themselves.  Stanley believes that the only way We The People of the United States are going to solve our problems (especially the growing problem of obesity) is by asking the right questions and by coming up with appropriate answers.

Through Foundation EON, he hopes to help you (and America) do just that.
