Persistence Is The Key
We find that people’s beliefs about their efficacy affect the sorts of choices they make in very significant ways. In particular, it affects their levels of motivation and perseverance in the face of obstacles. Most success requires persistent effort, so low self – efficacy becomes a self – limiting process. In order to succeed, people need a sense of self – efficacy, strung together with resilience to meet the inevitable obstacles and inequities of life. (Albert Bandura)
Persist / Persistent – Refusing to give up or let go. Lasting or enduring tenaciously. Constantly repeated; continued. Continuing in spite of opposition, obstacles, discouragement, etc..
What Does This Quote Suggest?
The quote is actually a lot less complex than it looks initially.
The quote is saying that what we believe about ourselves; what we believe about how talented we are; what we believe about how effective we can be, affects everything in our lives.
The more we believe we can accomplish, the more likely we are to be motivated to work toward achieving those accomplishments. Also, the more a person believes they can accomplish, the more likely they are to PERSIST in the face of obstacles and to continue working, no matter what, in order to make things happen.
What Is Persistence?
“Stick – to – it – tiveness” is a commonly used phrase substituted for the word persistence. Persistent people stick to their guns and continue to put forth effort, no matter how long it takes, until they achieve their goals.
So How Does One Become Persistent?
One becomes persistent by believing in themselves; believing in their abilities; believing in their talents; believing in their ideas.
If you do NOT believe in yourself, you will give up. IF you believe in yourself, you will stick to it and do whatever it takes, for however long it takes until you succeed.
And that is what is behind the following quote:
Persistent people begin their success where others end in failure. (Edward Eggleston)
The Results You WILL Achieve
If you believe in yourself. If you are persistent, you WILL achieve LASTING weight loss on a level that is greater than most others have ever dreamed of.

That’s what will make you different from others.
That is what WILL make you successful.
Until next time, may you find your path by walking it . . .
