Fulfill Your Potential

You will never come across a greater adversary than your own potential. (Star Trek: Next Generation – Episode Titled “Evolution”)

Fulfill – To carry out or bring to realization.

Potential – Possible, as opposed to actual. Capable of being or becoming. A latent excellence or ability that may or may not be developed.

What Is The Quote Suggesting?

To me, this quote suggests the importance of fulfilling one’s own potential.

No matter what battles you face in life, your biggest battle is going to be the one you face against yourself as you attempt to fulfill your own potential.

Doing battle against obesity is just one of the battles many of us must face if we are going to fulfill our potential.

Achieving LASTING weight loss is one form (an all important form) of fulfilling your own potential.

Why Is This So?

Many reasons.

No one knows you better than you know yourself.

Consequently, you are more equipped to oppose yourself than anyone else or anything else out there.

When you battle yourself, everything comes into play.

There are no barriers as to what is fair and unfair.

There are no restrictions.

Combat gets down to its lowest level.

Potential is a moving target.

The more you achieve; the more you potentially can achieve.

In other words, your potential is always a moving target.

You may accomplish one goal, but then you have to keep moving toward the next one.

Living up to your potential takes guts.

I’ve heard it said that anyone who achieves LASTING weight loss is someone who dares to live up to their potential.

The key word is “daring”.

We don’t always see our own potential. It’s sad, but true. I see many people who could accomplish so much more, if they simply believed in their ability to do so.

People often underestimate their capacity to change.

The first step to changing is believing that we are capable of change.

We here at EON believe you are capable of change.  INCREDIBLE CHANGE !!!

People often focus on their limitations instead of their potential.

Alan Loy McGinnis once said: Focus on your potential instead of your limitations. The truth is that we are going to become what we think about the most. If we think we are limited; we will be limited. If we think we have potential; we will have potential.

What’s The Best Way To Fulfill Our Own Potential?

Believing in yourself; your abilities; your talents; and your ideas.

If you believe in yourself, you have virtually unlimited power.

What’s The Best Gift You Can Give To Your Children (And Others)?

Teach them to believe in themselves; their abilities; their talents; their ideas.

Teach them that one thing and virtually anything will be possible.

Until next time, may you find your path by walking it . . .

About The Author

Stanley F. Bronstein

Attorney, CPA and Author

President and Member Board of Directors

As his 50th birthday grew nearer, Stanley decided enough was enough. He was tired of living a life of obesity.

Since February 2009, Stanley has dropped from a weight of 320 pounds to the mid-190s.  He has gone from a life of inactivity to walking a half-marathon daily and full marathons on many weekends.

His latest book in what he calls his “iWarriorWalk Pathfinder Series” is designed to help people ask (and answer) key questions about themselves.  Stanley believes that the only way We The People of the United States are going to solve our problems (especially the growing problem of obesity) is by asking the right questions and by coming up with appropriate answers.

Through Foundation EON, he hopes to help you (and America) do just that.
